JERRY MATLEN, M.D.

Dr. Matlen was certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in 1988.  He is a graduate of the Wayne State University, School of Medicine.  He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Mt. Carmel Hospital.

Dr. Matlen has completed Fellowships in Oncology at the Hospital of Joint Disease in New York City.  He also completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction of the Hip and Knee and is able to evaluate any orthopedic condition.

Dr. Matlen’s practice is located in West Bloomfield and Southfield, Michigan and he is affiliated with William Beaumont Hospital.

PHILIP J. MAYER, M.D.

Dr. Mayer was board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in September of 1980. He completed a Fellowship in the study of the Spine at Harvard University from June of 1978 to January of 1979, and the completion of the Fellowship was done at the University of Hong Kong from January of 1979 to July of 1979. His private practice involves examination and treatment of the spinal disorders.

He has served as Division Head of Spinal Surgery in Orthopedics at Henry Ford Hospital.  He is on staff at Oakwood Hospital and St. Mary Mercy Hospital.

He is a clinical professor of Orthopedics at Wayne State University.

Dr. Mayer’s private practice is located in Northville, MI. He is focused on the non-operative treatment of back and neck disorders. He utilizes evidenced-based guidelines and principles for spinal rehabilitation through exercise based treatments.
